Colon Cleanse Warning!

A while ago I decided to abandon my usual colon cleanser (Dr. Floras Colon Cleanse) for something new.  It wasn’t that I didn’t like Dr. Floras, but there was this other brand called NutraSanus that claimed to be headed by a doctor and they used vitamin supplements,... blah blah blah...

Well that was a mistake!  I think it’s my responsibility to let everyone know that NutraSanus is a complete SCAM!  I regret the day that I ever tried a different colon cleanser!   Okay, I admit that it wasn’t the smartest move to  make the switch just days before I was supposed to go on vacation, but I thought that if it’s really all natural then how bad could it be?  I have to tell you all that not only was I more bloated than I ever was in my entire life, I had to be near the bathroom at ALL TIMES.  Regrettably, the mistake cost me my vacation and instead of lying on a warm beach in the Bahamas, I was running back in forth between my bed and the toilet. 

What’s really bad about the whole thing is that I experienced side effects long after I stopped taking it.  Come to find out that one of the ingredients in NutraSanus is Senna.  Senna is an extremely addictive (albeit “all natural”) chemical that will cause severe constipation and  in some cases even kidney failure. 

I am thankful to say that I didn’t get to that point, however I did have severe constipation for more than two of months after I stopped taking it.  I went to my doctor and he told me that it would be some time before I would feel like myself again and that I would just have to wait it out and let my body heal itself.  I spent the next 2.5 months eating and drinking lots of fruits, veggies water and non-citrus juices. 

What is scary about this is that I thought I had done some thorough research on NutraSanus before I chose to try it.  Most of my information on NutraSanus and other products from an “Independent” Colon Cleanse Review website.  Well don’t you know, NutraSanus owns the website that I was doing research on!  Of course they had nothing bad to say about it. 

Well, I decided to look in to NutraSanus a little further and see what I could find.  After doing some extensive research I found out that it doesn’t actually clean out your colon.  It simply has a bunch of laxatives in it... and of course Senna.  Well anyone who has ever looked into colon cleansing knows that there’s a big difference between taking something that will give you diarrhea and an actual colon cleansing product!
